STORY

Legendary gangsta rapper & producer from Milwaukee, WI.

He got his first break along with a group called Mill-Town Hustlas that was also made up of D.J. Razor & Dray Luv (who became later one half of Tha N.S.S.G.'s). The trio released a tape back in 1994 (pressed on CD with additional songs in 2000), which got them some recognition... even from Eazy-E himself, who offered them a deal with Ruthless Records that eventually failed...

Tha D.R.E. released in 1994 his debut solo records, the EP "Deep On A Solo Creep". Two years later , he put out his sophomore album, titled "Gotta Get Paid", which contains 6 of the 7 songs previously released on his debut EP and additional tracks from other artists.

If those releases are quite good, it's nothing compared to Tha D.R.E.'s following album that came out in 1997, entitled "Steel Creepin' & which is his masterpiece. It's a gem entirely done by himself (there's onlu an undcredited appearance of Coo Coo Cal), one of the best album from the Brew City & a Midwest mobb music classic.

Tha D.R.E. released several other solo albums in the mid-2000's.

But what gives him a special status is not only his solo discography but the fact tha he's associated, mostly as a producer, with a good amount of releases regarded as all-time Milwaukee classics ("In Tha Freeza Chamba" of Ice Mone, "16 Minutes With An O.G." of E-Mack-7, "Till Da World Blow Up" of Sev'n Foe or "Nuttin' But A Thang" of Tha N.S.S.G.'s among others...).

Tha D.R.E. didn't release anyhting since the mid 2000's. Don't know whatr he became & if he's still recording music...
